Applying Changes

When you make changes in SC, they come into effect when you save them.

Notice the following exceptions:

Restarting Server in Infrastructure Administrator (IA) Is Required

  • To apply changes in System Management > Authentication Policy > Administrative Session Idle Timeout, restart Agent Server (AS).

  • To apply changes in any NAT–related settings in Call Switching, restart Call Dispatcher (CD).

  • To apply changes in a NAT–related location’s IP range, network element or user settings in Call Switching > Locations , restart Call Dispatcher (CD).

  • To apply changes in the file location for voicemail, recording, or prompts in System Services, restart Agent Server (AS) and Media Routing Server (MRS).

  • To start using changed e-mail attachment settings in System Services > E-Mail Settings > Attachment Settings, restart Agent Server (AS).

  • To apply changes in System Management > Modules > Quality Monitoring Server (QMS) > Interface Settings, restart Call Dispatcher (CD).

Restarting CDT Is Required

  • Changes to any of the SRTP-related settings in Call Switching > Global Switching Settings > Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) are applied only after agents restart the CDT.
