Rolling back to previous Feature Package

Use

In some occasions after installing a feature package it may be necessary to revert to the previous feature package. To rollback, follow the procedure below.

Procedure

Note:

  • Always back up the databases before upgrade. Otherwise rolling back is not possible.

  • If the auto-update function is in use, remove the client components manually from client workstations before rolling back.

  1. Right click the virtual unit (VU) and select Change Base Installation.

  2. Select the base installation. For example, if your current version is FP18 and you need to roll back to FP17, select FP17 as the base installation.

  3. Synchronize instances.

  4. Apply changes to all VUs but not to databases.

  5. Restore the databases from the backup.

    You may also leave the databases to upper FP level as old tables are not removed, therefore the older components should work just fine. But for the consistency, we recommend using the same version throughout the software.
