Data Destinations
Data Collector component receives operative data and provides specified data destinations for reporting and monitoring purposes. Default data destinations are created automatically during installation, but you can define more destinations if more complex reporting is required.
Viewing Existing Data Destinations
To define which columns are displayed, click , select the column checkboxes, and click Select.
The following default destinations are displayed after installation:

Defining New Data Destinations
Install first the database using the History Database template in Infrastructure Administrator. We recommend using Windows authentication for the database user.
Use the database server, database name, user and authentication of that installation in the new destination definitions:

Click Add New.

Enter the Basics information; see the following table.

Enter a unique, descriptive name for each destination
Type
Choose the type of History.
Database Server
Do not enter VU name but the server name.
Database Name
Enter the database name.
Database User Name
When Windows authentication is used, enter here the domain account in format domain\user. If you use SQL authentication for this destination, enter the SQL logon name.
Set SQL Authentication Password
Enables entering SQL Authentication Password. When Windows authentication is used, leave this selection box empty.
SQL Authentication Password
Use this field only if you want to use SQL Authentication. When Windows authentication is used, leave this field empty.
Data Protection Rule
Select one of the data protection rules that are dedicated for this destination from the selection list. For more information see Data Protection Rules.
