Chat Improvements

Chat Transcript Saved

Customers can now save their chat conversations. The transcript is saved as a text file into a local device. Administrators enable this feature in the Chat Configurator.

Notification Sounds

Administrators can also define for incoming chat requests:

  • Audio notification

  • Tone for the notification

Customers can mute and unmute this notification sound. For chat configuration, see System Configuration > Visitor Chat Application.

You can define a tone that is played for customers when an agent sends a new chat message.

Authentication

The configurator tool for Visitor Chat requires authentication. You must have a user account configured in System Configurator. Use this account’s logon name and password to access Visitor Chat Configurator. To be able to define which queues to use in the Visitor Chat, you must also have rights to view chat queues.
