Quality of Service (QoS) and DSCP

Use

To provide predictable network service levels, we recommend defining Quality of Service (QoS) on the server(s) where Media Routing Server (MRS) is installed, and on all client workstations. In the policy, prioritize the voice service by defining the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) value, and define the same DSCP value in the System Configurator Call Switching > Global Switching Settings > Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP).

Procedure

When the DSCP is enabled, the system uses the default DSCP value 46.

  1. Use Policy-based Quality of Service (QoS). Define the policy for the components listed below, and set the DSCP value.
