Acquiring Certificate

Use

Execute this step on a computer with the Internet Explorer software installed and the HTTP access to the CA. The computer does not need to be the actual server where the certificate is going to be installed.

Procedure

1. Go to the website of the CA you have decided to use.

2. Open the request file created in the previous phase with a text editor, and copy and paste all text, including the starting and ending lines, from the file into the appropriate field on the web page.

3. Select the certificate type according to your needs.

4. A confirmation page is displayed:

   • Make sure your contact information is right.

   • Enter the password or other authentication required by the CA.

     Note:

     This is to authenticate your connection to the CA. Save this information also in a secure place together with the request.

   • Review and accept possible privacy and subscriber statements.

5. Submit your order.
