Applying Changes

When you make changes in SC, they come into effect when you save them.

Notice the following exceptions that require restarting a server in Infrastructure Administrator (IA):

  • Applying changes in System Management > Authentication Policy > Administrative Session Idle Timeout requires restarting Agent Server (AS).

  • Applying changes in any NAT–related settings in Call Switching requires restarting Call Dispatcher (CD).

  • Applying changes in a NAT–related location’s IP range, network element, or user settings in Call Switching > Locations requires restarting Call Dispatcher (CD).

  • Applying changes in the file location for voicemail, recording, or prompts in System Services requires restarting Agent Server (AS) and Media Routing Server (MRS).

  • Starting to use changed e-mail attachment settings in System Services > E-Mail Settings > Attachment Settings requires restarting Agent Server (AS).

  • Applying changes in System Management > Modules > Quality Monitoring Server (QMS) > Interface Settings requires restarting Call Dispatcher (CD).

In addition, restarting CDT is required after making changes to any of the SRTP-related settings in Call Switching > Global Switching Settings > Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP)
