Installing Feature Packages and Hotfixes

Feature Packages are major releases and hotfixes smaller corrections.

Feature Packages

Feature Package (FP) is an upgrade release of the Sinch Contact Center software. It includes all software packages, and it can be used as an initial installation package as well.

Installing Feature Packages

Note:

Always back up the databases with SQL Management Studio before upgrade. Otherwise rolling back is not possible.

Note:

Make sure you upgrade the Infrastructure Administrator (IA) and High Availability Controller (HAC) first before the rest of the system.

  1. Extract the Feature Package software from the zip file in the install media directory. That creates a folder with the version number. These folders, for example 7.0.7.0, are later on referred to as Base Installation.

  2. Upgrade the Infrastructure Administrator (IA).

  3. Upgrade High Availability Controller (HAC)

  4. Upgrade the actual Software Packages starting from the database packages.

  5. Upgrade the client components locally on workstations, see the Client Workstation Guide.

For changes and corrections made in a package, see the corresponding release note.

If something goes wrong, or you just want to roll back to the previous version, see Rolling Back to Previous Support Package.

Hotfixes

Hotfix is a smaller correction that is installed in one or just a few software packages. For more information, see the chapter Installing and Removing Hotfixes.
