Client Certificates

Client certificates can be used for user authentication. The certificate installed on the client workstation must be of the protocol X.509 and must be enabled for the servers during installation and in the User and Role Management of System Configurator for each user.

Note that if the client certificate is a so-called self-signed certificate, not acquired from a public Certification Authority (CA), a specific server-end component must be installed on the Connection Server that verifies the certificates.

Also if a self-signed certificate is used on the Connection Server to secure client-server connection, a corresponding client component must be installed on each server to verifiy the server certificate. Do not mix this with other client certificates.
