Firewalls and Virus Scanners

Firewalls

Microsoft Windows firewall is used by default, and you can install your own firewall software as well. To allow communication you may need to adjust the open and closed ports in firewall to ensure Sinch Contact Pro functions. See Security Guide section Default Ports of Sinch Contact Pro Components for port ranges.

Note:

Microsoft Windows firewall blocks SIP signaling traffic by default, which causes that the SIP desk phones are not able to register towards Sinch Contact Pro system. The firewall must be configured to allow the communication traffic required.

Virus Scanners

You can install your own virus scanning or malware protecting programs on the Sinch Contact Pro servers. The recommendation is to exclude from virus scan:

  • \SAP\ContactCenter\VU

    This contains all executables and programs.

  • \SAP\ContactCenter\Logs

    Log files may become large and the virus scanner can slow down log writing and Sinch Contact Pro component.
