Applying Changes

Use

When an instance is defined for a virtual unit, or any changes have been made to any element that has been instantiated, the changes must be applied before they are taken into use.

Applying changes applies all changes made to that element, or on any elements recursively on the lower level. So if you have made changes on the system level and in one virtual unit, applying changes on the system level applies also the changes made on the virtual unit level.

To apply changes, choose whether you want to do it on the virtual unit, HAC node, or system level. If the actions are carried out locally, the option name refers to Local System, otherwise it talks about Host.

Procedure

Apply Changes on the Virtual Unit Level

  1. Right-click the virtual unit under a node.

  2. Choose Apply Changes to Host / Local System.

Apply All Changes on the HAC Node Level

This option updates the changes in those virtual units that have instances on the node.

  1. Right-click the node.

  2. Click Apply All Changes to Host / Local System.

Apply All Changes to All Hosts

This option updates all changes made in any virtual unit on all hosts.

  1. Right-click the HA System, or choose the option Software in menu bar.

  2. Click Apply All Changes to All Hosts. The process may take several minutes depending on the amount of software that will be applied.
