Instantiating Virtual Units

Use

With this procedure you define the HAC Nodes where the virtual unit will have instances. There is no limit on how many nodes a virtual unit can have instances, but at least one instance is required for system to work, and two are required to achieve redundancy.

Prerequisites

You have installed at least one HAC Node, see Installing HAC Nodes, and virtual unit, see Installing Virtual Units.

Procedure

1. Right-click the Instances under the virtual unit you want to instantiate.

2. Choose Add Instance.

3. Choose the node from the list.

4. Repeat the steps 2 and 3 for other nodes.

To remove a virtual unit's instance from a node, right-click the instance under the node, and choose Delete.

Result

The virtual unit and its components appear under the chosen HAC node.
