Creating Logical Systems

Use

Logical system is a tree view of selected virtual units in IA. For example, make a logical system per each customer in a hosting environment.

As of SP07, logical systems can be used as logging entities in the logging wizard, and making a combination of virtual units, whose logging configuration is similar, may be useful.

Procedure

To create a logical system, in IA:

1. Click Model > Assign Virtual Units to Logical System.

2. Enter the name for the logical system, for example a customer name, such as ACME.

3. Choose the virtual units you want to include in the model.

4. Save the system model.

To view a logical system:

1. Click the icon on the upper right corner of the model tree.

2. Choose View Logical System.

3. Select the system from the list.
