Databases
Operational databases should be placed on clustered servers. Databases can be protected by the surface area control configuration, but we recommend considering also a firewall. Databases form the system segment with the highest security level.
The Data Collector component collects data for the Reporting and Online Monitoring applications, and saves it in the specific databases. Several destinations can be configured, and the security level of saved information can be configured with a set of parameters. By default, the security level is set to hide the external contacts, transfer numbers, conference links and call recordings. These functions can be adjusted in System Configurator.
If you change the system parameters so that all contact events are saved without data protection (for example, when collecting information for troubleshooting or technical development), make sure that the Data Collector user has write-only access to this database, and all users that have reading access to the database are audited.
