Searching for Entries
You must have rights to use the directory functions.
You use this procedure to search for directory entries.
Before executing a search, note the following:

Always use a search criterion that is as precise as possible. Otherwise the search is slow and the result may be incorrect.

If you leave the search criterion field empty, the search results are a random collection of entries, or all entries in the selected directory if their number is smaller than the search limit. Therefore, we recommend that you use a search criterion in all searches.

The search criterion field is not case-sensitive.

Depending on the amount of data and the accuracy of the search criteria, the data retrieval may take a while.

The search field retains 50 entries you have searched for during the current session and displays them in a popup menu.

Communication Desktop (CDT) ignores the following special characters when you include them in the search criterion:

- Choose the directory.
- Enter the search criteria.

The search is executed and the results are displayed.
