Managing Import and Export Jobs

Use

You use this procedure to view the details of your import and export jobs, to stop an ongoing job and to add new schedules.

Note that automatic configuration imports cannot be viewed as jobs and they cannot be scheduled, see Automatic Import Function.

Prerequisites

You must have rights to manage import and export jobs to modify and delete jobs. To view the job details, the view right is sufficient. To edit the mapping information, you must have rights to modify import and export settings.

Viewing Job Details

  1. On the System Configurator main screen, choose System Tools > Import and Export Jobs.

  2. Search for the job whose details you want to view.

    The search result list appears.

  3. Double-click the job.

The Import and Export Job block displays the job information such as the result of the import or export job. The system automatically names the job, and displays the import/export file and path in the Notes field, but you can change the text in both fields.

The Parameters Sent to Batch Job Server field lists the options you selected in the import or export view, for example, the name of a queue group.

With AD import jobs, Mapping displays the mapping used for this job. In scheduled jobs, you can edit the mapping in this view as well.

Stopping Jobs

  1. On the System Configurator main screen, choose System Tools > Import and Export Jobs.

  2. Search for the job whose details you want to view.

    The search result list appears.

  3. Double-click the job.

  4. Deselect the Enabled option in the Import and Export Job block.

  5. To restart the job, select Enabled.

Adding New Schedules

  1. On the System Configurator main screen, choose System Tools > Import and Export Jobs.

  2. Search for the job whose details you want to view.

    The search result list appears.

  3. Choose the job.

  4. Choose the Schedules block and click Add New.

The Enabled option is automatically selected and the fields in the view are activated.

  5. Choose the job type, that is, how often the job should be executed.

The options after this depend on your selection. For example, if you choose Weekly, you also have to choose the weekdays when the job is executed.

  6. Save your entries.
