Note:

Do not upgrade open-source software components yourself since it might lead to compatibility issues but use the ones delivered with the software.

As of FP14, the following versions can be used:
  • Java 8: 32-bit or 64-bit edition

  • Java 11: 64-bit edition.

Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server, 64-bit version (32-bit version is installed automatically with it) All servers
Microsoft OLE DB Driver 18 for SQL Server is required in the SQL server that is used for reporting. Added in 2002.
Note:

To use the new driver in existing applications, you should convert your connection strings from sqlncli<x> or sqloledb to msoledbsql.

Reporting Database Server

Note: MSDTC must be running if database packages are installed in different databases, see the section Enabling and Starting MSDTC.

Note:

The package is not a downloadable component for Windows Server 2016. Add it in Server Manager using "Add Role or Feature".

Email Sender, Reporting Database Server, Chat Portal Server and Integration Interfaces server

Microsoft IIS 6 with SMTP server set-up.

Note: We cannot guarantee support for this third-party feature. As of 1608, it is possible to connect to an external SMTP server, configure that in SC System Services > E-Mail Settings.

Mail server, sending (Email Sender)

Note: As of SP07, the default interface library used for sending e-mails is .NET. The .NET option is recommended with Windows 2008, and later, versions. If you change the library of a running system, EmailSender must be restarted before the settings takes effect.

Any IMAP server, Microsoft Exchange is preferred

The supported secure transport protocols for IMAP(S):

  • As of version 7.0 SP04 Patch 1: SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.

  • Before version 7.0 SP04 Patch 1: PCT 1.0, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0.

Mail server, receiving

OpenSSL, the newest available version.

If Tomcat Native Connector is used with ECF installation.

Note:
  • Make sure that the prerequisites are installed before installing the client workstation components, otherwise the installation will fail. For more information, see Installation of Client Components in Client Workstation Guide.
  • For supported browsers and platforms of Embedded Communications Framework (ECF), see Before You Start in the ECF section of Installation Guide.
  • For supported browsers of Communication Panel, see Communication Panel section in Installation Guide.
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 or 10 operating system

  • CDT, Online Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Windows 10: IE11

  • IA and SC require Java on client workstation when started from Remote Administration Tools. As of FP17 the following versions can be used:

    • Java JRE 8, either 32-bit or 64-bit edition

    • Java JDK 11, 64-bit edition

Client Workstations

* We recommend the English version, but the system has been tested on English, Russian, and Japanese server and SQL platforms as reference for languages belonging to Latin code pages, non-Latin, and CJK code pages, correspondingly.

Note:

Install always the most recently tested service packs of prerequisite software. Always make sure that the service packs and hotfixes of third party software have been tested and approved before installation.

Note:

Internet Explorer blocks out-of-date ActiveX controls. This does not affect Sinch Contact Center end-user applications but Infrastructure Administrator and System Configurator users may encounter this in environments where the Java SE 8 version below update 11 is used.

If this may happen, note that:

  • IE does not block the usage but displays a warning. You can choose to use the blocked Java by selecting Run this time.

  • Blocking is not applied to Local Intranet Zone or Trusted Sites Zone. Make sure that the Remote Administration Tools site is on an appropriate zone.

  • Install the prerequisite software security updates when available.
