Deploying Installation and Configuration Changes

System Configurator

If you change configuration in the System Configurator (SC) application, the changes are applied after a short delay.

Exceptions:

  • Agent Server must be restarted in IA if you change any of the following parameters in SC:

    • In System Management > Authentication Policy > Administrative Session Idle Timeout.

    • In System Services the file locations for voicemail, recording, and prompts.

  • If you enable or disable any of the SRTP-related settings in Call Switching > Global Switching Settings > Real-Time Transport Protocol, all end-users must relogon to phone application to apply the change.

Infrastructure Administrator

Changes in Infrastructure Administrator (IA) configuration:

  • To make changes to all instances of a virtual unit, make changes on the virtual unit level, right-click the virtual unit and choose Synchronize Instances, then right-click each node and choose Apply Changes on Host/Local System.

  • Changes are applied when you end deployment mode by choosing Connection > Monitoring Mode.

Exception: To make changes to any database variables, for example changing number range in PSTN Range, make changes on the virtual unit level: right-click the virtual unit and choose Synchronize Instances, then right-click the database node and choose Upgrade All Software, and then Apply Changes on Local System.

Client Relogon to User Interface

If the configuration change is such that it affects end-user interface, a message Administrator has changed settings; do you want to reload? appears. The agents can restart the concerned application when convenient. You can define how often the end-user applications are updated in System Configurator System Management > Channels > Contact Center > Update Interval for User's Configuration Data For more information, see System Configurator application help.
