Software Change Management
This section provides information on upgrade orders and procedures.
Sinch Contact Center software changes are made using feature packages and hotfixes.
Always install the hotfix and feature packages with the Infrastructure Administrator (IA) tool according to the instructions. This guarantees that corrections are deployed properly, and you can also restore the previous version if that turns out to be necessary.
Required Downtime
We recommend installing system so that all virtual units have redundant instances on different servers. With the recommended system, software updates can be installed without downtime.
If your system is installed with single instances only, the required downtime for each virtual unit is less than 10 minutes, and approximately one hour for updating entire system with a support package.
If the High-Availability Controller (HAC) package is updated in a hotfix or support package, during the installation of the package, HAC does not make any restarts if the system fails.
If the IA tool is updated in a hotfix or support package, the actual system can be up and running, but the system services are interrupted for the updating time.
