WhatsApp Templates

WhatsApp message templates are a function to reach a customer outside the 24 hour opt-in window to send for example notifications or customer care messages. The message templates can also be used in an active chat discussion. If the customer has not given the permission to receive messages from you over WhatsApp, you are not allowed to contact the customer with template messages. Sinch Contact Pro supports WhatsApp opt-in messages.

The templates need to be approved by Meta. To check what is an acceptable template, see the Meta documentation. The templates are created and controlled at Meta business account and for the Sinch Contact Pro usage you copy the reference to your Sinch Contact Pro system. Note:

Sinch Contact Pro doesn't support dynamic content in WhatsApp templates (such as Dear {1}, please remember reserved service time at {2} where {1} should be replaced with name and {2} with time).
