Rolling Back to Previous Support Package

Use

In some occasions after installing a support package it may be necessary to revert to the previous support package. To rollback, follow the procedure below.

Procedure

Note:
  • Always back up the databases before upgrade. Otherwise rolling back is not possible.

  • If the auto-update function is in use (as of SP07), remove the client components manually from client workstations before rolling back.

  1. Right click the virtual unit (VU) and select Change Base Installation.

  2. Select the base installation. For example, if going from SP6 to SP4, select SP4.

  3. Synchronize instances

  4. Apply changes to all VUs but not to databases.

  5. Restore the databases from the backup.

    You may also leave the databases to upper SP level as old tables are not removed, therefore the older components should work just fine. But for the consistency, we recommend using the same version throughout the software.
