Creating Monitoring Templates

Use

You use this procedure create templates that allow you to define the same summary graphs view on the Online Monitoring user interface for selected users and user groups.

A default template is available in the system. You can copy that and make your own modifications to it, or you can create your own templates from scratch.

Prerequisites

You must have rights to modify or to create monitoring templates.

Procedure

  1. On the System Configurator main screen, choose Reporting > Monitoring Templates.

  2. Choose Add New.

A screen area with relevant assignment blocks appears.

  3. Enter a descriptive name for the template.

  4. In the Graphs block, choose the ones you want to include in the template using the Move to List icon.

The maximum amount of graphs in a template is 18.

To choose various items simultaneously, hold down Ctrl and click on the field names you want to add.

You can change the values of Max. Value, Critical Limit and Warning Limit. However, note the following about the graphs values:

    • Max. Value must exceed the Critical Limit value.

    • The Critical Limit value must be bigger than the Warning Limit value but less than Max. Value.

    • The Warning Limit must be less the Critical Limit value.

    • In service level graphs, the values are as follows:

      • The Critical Limit value cannot exceed the Warning Limit value.

      • The Warning Limit cannot exceed the Max. Value.

      • The Warning Limit cannot be less than the Critical Limit value.

  5. To change the order of the graphs in the Selected Graphs table, use the Up and Down buttons.

  6. To display the defined values of the graphs in the Online Monitoring application, select the Show Value option.

  7. Save your entries.
