Linking Bridges to ETC Modules and Trunks

Use

Note: If you need to update these settings in Sinch Contact Pro cloud, contact Sinch support.

In this view you can:

  • Connect IP desk phones to the system via External Terminal Controller (ETC) modules. To do this, link an appropriate SIP bridge to ETC module.

  • Connect the system to PSTN trunks (gateways). To do this, link an appropriate SIP bridge Bridge to an external PSTN trunk.

  • Connect two or more systems together:

    1. Define the SIP bridge of the first system as a trunk in Call Switching > Trunks, see Managing Trunks, and link the second system’s SIP bridge to it as if it were an external trunk.

    2. Repeat the step 1 other way round: define the SIP bridge of the second system as a trunk, and link the first system’s SIP bridge to it as if it were an external trunk.

    3. To enable passing information in the SIP X-header, select options in Call Attached Data (CAD) block (formerly known as BCM-to-BCM Connection).

Procedure

Note:

Only use each SIP Bridge module for either ETC connections, or for PSTN trunk connections. To choose the right SIP Bridge module in the Modules view, check the Virtual Unit Name.

Linking to External Terminal Controller

To link the SIP Phones module to an ETC module:

  1. Choose the right SIP Bridge module in the list of Modules. For example in our model installation, use the one in Front End virtual unit.

  2. Choose the desired module from the list of Available ETC Modules.

  3. Click the > arrow button to move the module to the list of Selected ETC Modules.

To break the link between ETC and SIP Bridge modules:

  1. Choose the desired module from the list of Selected ETC Modules.

  2. Click the < arrow button to move the module to the list of Available ETC Modules.

Linking to Trunks

Note:

The external PSTN trunk must be installed in the system before it can be linked to a SIP Bridge.

To link the SIP module to a trunk (gateway):

  1. Choose the right SIP Bridge module in the list of Modules. For example in our model installation, use the one in PSTN Bridges virtual unit.

  2. Choose the desired module from the list of Available Trunks.

  3. Click the > arrow button to move the module to the list of Selected Trunks.

Note:

You cannot break the link in this view, but go to Call Switching > Trunks > Basics > Bridge, and move the selection to another bridge, or to an empty option. For more information, see Managing Trunks.
