Configuring Simple Notification Service Settings

In the Simple Notification Service (SNS) settings, Sinch configures settings for sending push notifications to the user's mobile device for cloud customers. These settings are only used for the mobile app when it's released.

To configure SNS settings:

  1. To enable the mobile app notification service, select Enable SNS.
  2. In the AWS region field, enter the AWS region where the service is provided.
  3. In the iOS endpoint ARN field, enter the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the service for iOS devices.
  4. In the Max. notifications for new conversations in queue field, enter the maximum number of notifications that will be sent to users for new conversations arriving to the queues they've selected. For example, if you set the value as 5, users will get notifications of the first 5 conversations arriving in the queue. No notifications will be sent for the following conversations until a user accepts or picks a conversation. At this point, the maximum number is no longer full as users have received notifications of 4 conversations, meaning another notification will be sent. The default and minimum value is 5. The maximum value is 50.
  5. In the Poll interval for new conversations in queue field, define how often you want the system to check for new conversations in the queues the user has selected. The default and minimum value is 15 seconds.
  6. If you want notifications to stop when the user has been away from the app too long:
    1. Select Stop notifications after idle period.
    2. In the Idle period field, define how long a user can be away from the app before notifications stop. The default and minimum value is 240 minutes.
