Personalizing Communication Desktop (CDT)

You must have rights to modify or create user settings templates or user accounts.

You use this procedure to configure user interface settings of CDT. We recommend defining these settings via a user settings template, but you can also define them separately for each user. The settings defined in the template are marked with an asterisk (*) in the user settings view.

  1. On the System Configurator main screen:
    • To define a user settings template, choose User and Role Management > User Settings Template and search for the template that you want to configure.

    • To define a user’s settings, choose User and Role Management > Users and search for the user whose settings you want to configure.

    The search result list appears.

  2. Choose the template or user by double-clicking it.
  3. Choose CDT Personalization.
  4. Configure the settings according to the following table.

If you want that the setting you have defined in the template cannot be changed on user-level, select Deny User-Level Modifications. Those settings are grayed out in the user settings view.

    • 800 x 600

    • 1024 x 768

      This is the default size.

    • 1280 x 1024

This size supports bigger font size (9pt) and bigger row size that are needed, for example, for certain languages.

Choose the color schemes for the user interface.

Select this option if you want that the user interface is automatically minimized to a Microsoft Windows task bar when the user logs on to the application.

Select this option if you want that the Presence Information button is displayed in the toolbar.

    Open Presence Information View

Select this option if you want that the Presence Information view is opened automatically when users choose a presence profile from the dropdown menu. This way the users can easily change the default duration of the profile if the set duration is not applicable in their cases.

Choose the log level for the client, terminal components, and CEM server. This defines how detailed the created log files on the workstation are. If you choose a value other than None, this value overrides any lower level value that the user may have chosen in the personal settings.

    The values are as follows:

    • None

    • 1 – Error Messages

    • 2 – Warning Messages

    • 3 – Information Messages

    • 4 – Tracing Information Messages

    • 5 – Debug Messages

We recommend that only values from 0 to 2 are chosen for continuous use.

    The default value is None.

    • No: The currently used NIC is used as long as it is available. The default value.

    • Automatically: Network is switched automatically to a more preferred NIC if one becomes available.

    • Prompt User: The CDT or Convergence user is asked for confirmation before switching to a more preferred NIC if one becomes available.
