Configuring directory settings of CDT

You must have rights to modify or create user settings templates or user accounts.

You use this procedure to configure Communication Desktop settings. We recommend defining these settings via a user settings template, but you can also define them separately for each user. The settings defined in the template are marked with an asterisk (*) in the user settings view.

  1. On the System Configurator main screen:
    • To define a user settings template, choose User and Role Management > User Settings Template and search for the template that you want to configure.

    • To define a user’s settings, choose User and Role Management > Users and search for the user whose settings you want to configure.

    The search result list appears.

  2. Choose the template or user by double-clicking it.
  3. Choose CDT Directory.
  4. Configure the settings according to the following table.

If you want that the setting you have defined in the template cannot be changed on user-level, select Deny User-Level Modifications. Those settings are grayed out in the user settings view.

Settings Common for User Settings Templates and Users:

    Search Limit

Choose the maximum number of search results. The default value is 100.

    Search Criterion for Incoming Call

Choose Source (A number) or Destination (the initial B number) as a search criterion if you want that CDT executes a search based on an incoming call. This function is especially useful for switchboard operators. For example, the Destination value shows you information about the target the caller tried to reach originally.

The option Destination works only with transferred calls.

    Display Call Event View Automatically

Select this option if you want that the call event view appears automatically when there is an inbound call.

    Autom. Focus

Select this option if you want that the Directory view appears automatically when an inbound contact is answered. Simultaneously the cursor moves to the search criteria field and users can execute a search.

    Focus on List

Select this option if you want that the cursor moves to the top of the search result list, and the user can continue by scrolling the results using the arrow keys on the keyboard.

    • n

    The default value is 0.

This setting has been moved from the contact settings in SP09.
